The King’s English

Brand Development

Problem

When a beloved anchor within a community seeks out a refresh, it’s time to buckle down, do the research, and make sure to retain the elements that have contributed to over 40 years of success. Authenticity, charm, whimsy, and a deep sense of literary knowledge (we swear there are more PhDs on staff than at the University of Utah) makes The King’s English who they are.

Solution & Impact

A bit of traditional English typography courtesy of William Caslon, a little whimsy and flourish with some handwritten type, and an acknowledgement that sometimes people abbreviate the longer name as just TKE. Mix all that with a flexible system that allows The Kings English to show the range of products, services, and Add in a bit of joy in designing some of the coolest branded merch around and we’ll call it a joyful branding exercise worthy of a place where so many come to expand their minds.

A little bit of class, a bit of historical typography, and just the right amount of bookishness.
